A site that is zoned for individual townhouses was creatively reinterpreted for six flats with a communal courtyard and private garden access for each unit. Consideration of vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns dictated selective opacity from busy Yesler Way. Corner “bay” windows were designed to emulate the modulation of traditional row houses while opening rooms to views of lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains beyond.
