Respect for a native wooded site of rolling lush topography required a light touch on the landscape to construct three buildings; a workshop, guest house and primary residence. The site design references British pastoral landscape planning where distant structures are seen in perspective while views unfold in a cinegraphic experience. Each building has its own orthogonal precinct of solid (house) and void (clearing) while the main house is perched on a high bluff to capture panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.
