This urban condominium, constructed in the early 2000s, was reconfigured and reimagined as a pied-à-terre for a couple with multiple residences. A composition of simple rectangular volumes clad with lacquered panels are interconnected with punched openings that frame views of the city and Mount Rainier beyond. These openings are glazed with electric glass, providing alternating transparency and opacity for selective privacy. The palette of finish materials is intentionally minimal and monochromatic to complement the client’s art collection.
