Tyler Engle is the principal of Tyler Engle Architects PS, established in 2000. A native of Seattle, Tyler received a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University with honors and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. Over 35 years of architectural experience includes work in Seattle, San Diego, New York, and Madrid. Projects include the Alhambra Visitors Center in Spain, JFK Japan Airlines Terminal, Kings County Hospital in New York and numerous residences in the Pacific Northwest. Tyler has served on the Baldwin Hardware Design Council, is a Past President of the experimental theater ‘On the Boards’ and was a trustee of the ‘Intiman’ theater.
Balancing a passion for art and culture with the pragmatics of construction, Tyler has chaired American Institute of Architects committees for design recognition, code reform and process improvement and has worked to integrate the education of the design disciplines. Tyler’s work has been recognized by international publications and awards for design excellence. He travels internationally with the American Institute of Architects Committee on Design and continues to be inspired by the curious and unusual.
